Chalk Walk June 16th

Please STOP street harassment!

We had our first ever chalk walk in Halifax on Sunday! It was pretty amazing. A group of people got together on the Halifax commons to spend a sunny afternoon drawing and writing on the pathways. A lot of people stopped to read as they were walking or biking in the park, and we had some great conversations.

Don’t miss out on our events! Follow us on Facebook or Twitter to keep up with what’s going on. (we’re working on setting up a mailing list too)

In case you missed it, Global News stopped by and we got a bit of coverage on the weekend news. (go to the 7 minute mark of the video)

There are some amazing photos coming in from people who attended. Go to our Facebook album to see everything we’ve posted so far.

And hey, when you’re next out walking, take a piece of chalk with you and make your own mark on the street. Send photos to us and the We Chalk Walk tumblr if you want to share your action with the world.

Hope to see you next time!

I don't want to keep you. Don't follow me home.

We intend to put an end to catcalling, groping, stalking, public masturbation, assaults, racial slurs, and other forms of street harassment. We believe we have the power to create a world where we can feel hot, confident, and badass, while still feeling safe. Everyone deserves to be able to walk our streets without fear.
